Fractional Marketing & Communications Manager
Reask
Reask is an extreme weather risk modelling startup building the next generation of climate-aware hazard models for the (re)insurance and ILS sectors. I work as their fractional marketing and comms manager 2 days a week.

The ask
Reask is small team of incredibly talented catastrophe modellers who built the previous generation of cat models at RMS. They are brilliant at explaining the science, the mechanisms and the research in real depth, and there was already some solid content on the site. What they didn’t have was anyone to translate that work into language a buyer could relate to: the use cases, the pain points, the reasons any of it mattered to the person deciding whether to buy.
I joined as the company’s first marketing hire. The site ran on a legacy WordPress build that was hard to update in-house. It had a homepage, an about page, a product overview page and blog posts. SEO had never been a priority, so there was a lot of groundwork to lay. On top of that, the team wanted to launch a new tropical cyclone alert product, and they needed someone to run marketing day to day.
What I did
My first task was launching the tropical cyclone alert product. I built the landing page and sign-up form, connected it to AWS, created the email template, set up the automated flows, and ran the promotion and press around the launch.
Alongside that I audited the company’s existing content, tools and processes, then wrote a content strategy and created the social media and content calendars. That framework became the spine everything else hung off.
The bigger structural call was moving off WordPress. I worked alongside an external web specialist to migrate the site to Framer so we could update it in-house and move faster, and refreshed the design to feel more modern while we were at it.
From there I rewrote the key pages and built six new ones: a dedicated page for each product (DeepCyc, LiveCyc and Metryc) and three use-case pages mapped to the people actually buying. I also worked through a long list of SEO fixes the site had never had.
The rest was the day-to-day running of marketing:
Ran the company LinkedIn and coordinated personal posting
Managed campaigns end-to-end
Webinars and event marketing
Email marketing
Launched the company’s first newsletter
Published case studies and blog posts
Landed press mentions (e.g. TC alerts launch coverage, research with LGT ILS Partners).
Designed the supporting assets: social graphics, PDFs, newsletter and email templates
Reported on performance across all of it
The results
Website: sessions +43% in four months after new website launch (Jul–Oct 2025 vs Nov 2025–Feb 2026)
LinkedIn: 507 net new followers in seven months, at an 11.3% engagement rate (above the B2B tech benchmark).
Newsletter: 6.4% average click rate across three campaigns, above the typical 2–5% B2B range.
SEO: 233,197 search impressions across 2026 so far.
