Coolset

Coolset is an ESG and supply chain compliance platform that helps businesses measure emissions and file sustainability reports under EU law. I worked as a freelance writer focusing on sustainability and EU climate policy.

The ask

Coolset had a B2B marketing agency handling their marketing but were looking for a freelance content writer to take on the execution of the agency briefs - someone with experience writing about sustainability topics. They wanted to scale their content output and improve their SEO performance.

What I did

I took the agency's briefs and turned them into published, accurate, SEO optimized content, from blog posts to downloadable guides and checklists covering the soup of EU climate policy acronyms: the CSRD, ESRS, Double Materiality, EU Taxonomy, CBAM, CSDDD, EUDR and many more.

The EU policy landscape went through A LOT of changes during my time there, so a big part of the job was keeping track of these changes so we could help companies stay a step ahead.

I also got to work on creating some research-forward reports. One of my favourites was the 2025 Post-Omnibus Market Pulse where we used insights from a survey of 250+ companies to show how businesses were responding to the Omnibus Proposal. The report actually ended up going pretty viral and got picked up by multiple news outlets in the Netherlands. I also wrote the company's annual sustainability trends report three years running.
