The ask

Coolset builds ESG and supply-chain compliance software. They had a B2B marketing agency handling their marketing at the time but were looking for a freelance content writer to take on the execution of the briefs from the agency - someone with experience writing about sustainability topics. They wanted to scale their content output and improve their SEO performance.

What I did

I took the agency's briefs and turned them into published, accurate content, from blog posts to downloadable guides and checklists covering the sea of EU sustainability policy acronyms: CSRD, ESRS, Double Materiality, EU Taxonomy, CBAM, CSDDD, EUDR and many more.

The EU policy landscape went through A LOT of changes during my time there, so a big part of the job was keeping track of these changes so we could help companies stay a step ahead.

A big part of my role was creating detailed reports. One of my favorites was the 2025 Post-Omnibus Market Pulse Report where we used insights from a survey of 250+ companies to show how businesses are responding to the Omnibus Proposal, the growing role of voluntary reporting, and what it all means for ESG strategy. This report actually went pretty viral and got picked up by multiple news outlets in the Netherlands.

I also wrote Coolset's annual sustainability report three years running.
